Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford (born April 14 in 1980) was an American actor, singer as well as a dancer. She started her Broadway career performing in musicals such as Wicked, Legally Blonde, as well as Hair. Her role on stage in You Can't Take It With You as Essie Carmahiel earned her an award for the Tony Award in Best Featured Female Actress in the Play. Tony Award-winning actor Annaleigh Ashford spent her career collaborating with acclaimed actors and directors in theatre and on television. she will continue that collaboration with a variety of upcoming projects. Ashford will be next starring alongside Kumail Nanjiani on Robert Siegel's Hulu exclusive Welcome to Chippendales. It will premiere on 22nd November. Ashford is currently in production on Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. In the form of it is a Hulu Original, the film will be a part of Disney Digital Television's channels. Ashford is set to appear opposite Josh Groban on Broadway's Lunt-Fontanne Theatre during the march 2023 production of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. This show will be led by Thomas Kail and produced by Jeffrey Seller, the team which produced Hamilton. Ashford played Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy's American Crime Story Impeachment, which is based on the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp during the national crisis. For two seasons, she was a star of the hit show on CBS called B Positive. Also, she was a part of the cult series, created by Marco Pennette Chuck Lorre, which featured famous actors Linda Lavin Hector Elizondo Ben Vereen. No stranger to Broadway Ashford has been awarded both the Tony Drama Desk Award and the Outer Critics Circle Awards with her character Essie. Some other Broadway performances for Ashford are Sunday in the Park, with George Wicked legally Blonde, and her role as Lauren as Lauren in Kinky Boots. For this performance she received an Tony Award nomination. Ashford lives in Los Angeles & New York. Her birthplace was in Denver and grew up there.
